Welcome to the world of English by Yandex Practicum. We help students speak natural English through practice. Our platform is getting recognized by more and more students, and that is why we are expanding our team. We have recently launched a new EdTech product designed to teach English as a second language to Russian speaking software engineers and data analysts at levels A2-B2 (pre-intermediate — upper-intermediate) in the context of common work situations (e.g., daily stand-ups, communication with a customer, retrospective meetings after sprint completion). Role purpose The successful candidates will teach 8+ students using materials written by our methodologists and provide feedback after the sessions. Responsibilities You will work approximately 25 hours every week, providing online one-to-one lessons to 8 or more students twice a week (min 16 academic hours). Your teaching schedule will consist of 45 min contact slots, mostly in the morning (8-11 am) and in the evening (6-9 pm). For your lessons, you will use the materials provided on our online platform. You will be asked to fill in a form after each learning session, reflectively describing the ups and downs of the session. You will watch your studentschr(39) speaking sessions with foreign conversational partners and give feedback on them (1 session per month per student). You will attend weekly meetings where you will be able to ask course-related questions and share your ideas about the course. You will record your sessions and share them with the Teacher Trainer team (whenever your client gives consent).
