The Anglo-American School of Moscow is seeking an experienced, strategic, and innovative Advancement Director to lead and manage its Admissions, student enrollment, fundraising, marketing, and communication efforts at an exciting and defining moment in the School’s history. Start date: Summer 2023 General Description: The Director of Advancement is strategically responsible for the school’s brand and reputation management, school admissions and enrollment, alumni relationships and marketing & communication. The Director of Advancement oversees fundraising campaigns and community engagement, all digital, print, social, and multimedia communications related to the advancement operations. He/she will coordinate communications and outreach across a suite of publications and digital platforms, study and track digital analytics, and work closely with senior leadership, alumni volunteers, and colleagues within the division and across campus to improve engagement across primary audiences. This School-Wide Leadership position supports a diverse, vibrant, and energetic community with talented individuals who are aligned and driven to grow and succeed by working as one team. As a member of the AAS teams, the Director of Advancement identifies with and fully embraces the AAS Mission, Vision, Core Values, and organizational culture. The Director of Advancement will demonstrate unwavering faith in the AAS community, invest in productive and positive relationships, and utilize their strengths toward enriching the experience of our constituents. Qualifications and Requirements: University degree in business, communications, or related field; master’s degree preferred Demonstrated accomplishments in growing revenue, specifically relating to fundraising or student enrollment through admissions Demonstrated proficiency with technology applications (Microsoft Suite, GSuite, Outlook, etc.), related Advancement-specific applications, and social media platforms Speak, read and write in English fluently, according to the CEFR standards, C1 or a C2 level, as determined by the external AAS testing provider Must be eligible to receive a security clearance certification (provided by AAS) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attributes: 5+ years of experience in global community relations for an international organization with focus on community engagement and outreach, development, marketing, and fundraising Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, and superior interpersonal skills, with a natural way of connecting with various constituents and audiences Demonstrated experience in donor prospecting, in cultivating and developing relationships with key donors Ability to create important events celebrating and enhancing school culture; Skilled and collaborative problem-solver and critical, strategic thinker who will meet challenges with creative and effective solutions Talented team leader, adept at motivating, training, and managing a staff with diverse skills, talents, expertise, and experience A mature understanding of the critical role that Advancement plays in fulfilling the school’s mission, and a relentless commitment to achieving Advancement goals Resourceful, committed, self-directed, and goal-oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit, a strong work ethic, and keen attention to detail Politically savvy to appreciate and navigate a complex, challenging environment, using discretion, diplomacy, enthusiasm, and hospitality to build bridges and create connections among partners who would support the School Focused and disciplined leader able to formulate an advancement team strategy supported by a clear and effective timeline, an established and prioritized pathway with next steps to execute an effective and successful approach Maintains the highest levels of confidentiality and establishes professional relationships with all community members and the extended community in Moscow, and in the international school community world-wide Promotes the School and the services provided by the School in all words, actions, and behaviors Core Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Planning and Leadership: Collaborates closely with the School-Wide Leadership Team members and other key members of the school community in executing the school’s comprehensive strategy for admissions, alumni, communications, development, marketing, and communications plan through a strong community relations approach Presents to the Board of Directors and School Director an annual development plan with specific action steps for achieving specific goals along with ongoing progress reporting throughout each school year Budgets, organizes and supervises the Advancement department to ensure a strong positive image of School, locally, regionally and internationally Leads and develops the Advancement team in alignment and support towards the agreed target goals Admissions: Develops and implements an appropriate strategy to maximize enrollment for the School, according to the adopted AAS Admissions requirements covering the elements of lead generation, conversion and retention by proactive recruitment, advertising, and visibility Designs and is responsible for the experience of admissions at the School to enhance the school’s reputation Provide accurate statistical reports to the School Director and the Board of Directors on current and future enrolment, including market research, demographic, and other factors which may impact on enrolments Collaborates closely with Finance & Accounting, other departments in order to consistently meet or exceed key performance indicators related to admissions and enrollment Marketing, Communications and Public Relations: Oversees, evaluates, and develops marketing strategies, improvements and plan/implement social media and other marketing campaigns Coordinates with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to plan, design, and execute multi-channel communications to deliver segmented, relevant, and timely content for school visibility, students and faculty recruitment Provide regular and ad-hoc reports on the effectiveness of the School’s marketing strategies, campaigns etc. as required and make recommendations on changes to the strategy or execution plans as the need arises. Attend various public relations functions and meetings on and off campus, some of which fall outside normal working hours Oversee the detailed planning and execution of Open House Days and other promotional days for the School including presentations to visiting groups Acts as a spokesperson and ambassador for the school within the parameters established by existing AAS protocols Develops and maintains a strong alumni relationship network, ensuring systematic and organizational frameworks exists for continuity and communication Communicates with all staff, parents, students, and other groups Identifies and develops partnerships within the immediate and extended school community in support of building and maintaining community relations Develop a coordinated strategy for communication of the objectives and aims of the marketing function to the School’s staff, including the induction and training of new staff in positive customer service behaviors Fundraising Develops a comprehensive fundraising program that is carefully shaped and uniquely targeted to various constituencies Collaborates closely with Finance & Accounting, other departments in order to consistently meet or exceed key performance indicators related to Admissions and enrollment Additional Duties: Additional duties may be assigned to support the school’s needs
