компания "the skolkovo institute of science and technology" skoltech is an international university and a major research center founded in 2011. skoltech is included in the top-100 of the worldchr(39)s strongest young universities in the natural sciences (nature index). 1200+ employees (international team). 13 research centers (ai, oil and gas, neurotech, biotech, etc.). best practices and expertise through international professional environment. the international digital agriculture laboratory at the skolkovo institute of science and technologies - skoltech – works with industry and academics to foster innovation and agro-industrial development. we develop high-level, cutting-edge, basic research programs, towards quick delivering of improved plant varieties or animal breeds; and some digital agriculture solutions. we are looking for a motivated and talented postdoc that is eager to work on cutting-edge research projects within our young and international team. the appointment will be made at either junior research scientist, research scientist or leading research scientist depending on experience. the applicant will contribute to multidisciplinary projects in direct cooperation with animal breeders, molecular biologists, and support teams, in a frame of national and international cooperation with public institutes and companies. the applicant will participate to the elaboration of molecular breeding strategies based on gwas and genomic selection in livestocks. specific responsibilities include: you will set-up pipelines to analyze and organize genomic diversity data (whole genome resequencing or other methods, snp array) for animal genomes. transcriptomics and proteomics data will be also included. you will benefit from the strong international resources developed about these genomes in the last 12-10 years. a second objective is to participate to projects aiming to develop databases to manage genomic and phenotypic information allowing for performance evaluation of dairy cows in the russian federation. essential skills required: phd in bioinformatics or a related discipline, or biological science in a relevant field of molecular breeding or quantitative genetics, or statistical genetics; expertise in bash and pipelines from raw sequencing data to vcf files, and expertise in statistical software (r, python, etc.); some knowledge and experience with statistical tools and methods involved in animal modern genetics are an asset. if not, the lab will provide detailed and thorough training in this field; fluent in written and oral english language is essential. conditions: medical and life insurance (including dental, travel and accident insurance). flexible start of the working day (as agreed with the manager). social support system chr(40)including corporate psychologist consultationschr(41). good transport accessibility (10 min. to metro stations skolkovo, every 5-10 minutes transport from the metro stations slavyansky boulevard, troparevo, kutuzovskaya, molodezhnaya and solnechnaya).
