компания "the skolkovo institute of science and technology" skoltech is an international university and a major research center founded in 2011. skoltech is included in the top-100 of the worldchr(39)s strongest young universities in the natural sciences (nature index). 1200+ employees (international team). 13 research centers (ai, oil and gas, neurotech, biotech, etc.). best practices and expertise through international professional environment. project center for agrotechnologies is seeking for research scientists (full-time) to work on cutting-edge environmental data science projects. in this position, you will be part of the envirotyping and digitalization thrust area of the center for agrotechnologies and contribute to developing the next-generation smart-agriculture framework. this is a full-time, fixed-term (three-years) position. appointment will be made as either junior research scientist, research scientist, or senior research scientist depending on experience. specific responsibilities include: engaging in novel problem-driven research; analyzing environmental impacts on agriculture; identifying future challenges due to climate change and adaptation by food production systems; preparing high-impact publications, presenting at conferences and meetings; collaborating on technical proposals; mentoring ms and phd students. essential skills required: a ph.d. in a subject area related to either data science (e.g., computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, or engineering) or environmental sciences (e.g., atmospheric sciences, earth sciences, hydrology, environmental engineering, agricultural sciences, etc.) and having experience in data analytics [abd candidates with outstanding records may be considered at junior rs positions]; proficiency in a modern programming environment (python/r/matlab/...); demonstrated knowledge of machine learning algorithms; knowledge of online data access and web apis; excellent communication skills; fluency in the english language; a collaborative work attitude. additional beneficial skills: advanced proficiency in machine learning; experience in ai/ml applications for environmental science; familiarity with remote sensing; fluency in the russian language. conditions: medical and life insurance (including dental, travel and accident insurance). flexible start of the working day (as agreed with the manager). social support system chr(40)including corporate psychologist consultationschr(41). good transport accessibility (10 min. to metro stations skolkovo, every 5-10 minutes transport from the metro stations slavyansky boulevard, troparevo, kutuzovskaya, molodezhnaya and solnechnaya).
