Senior Linux Engineer

компания "quantori" quantori is a young company with a long history. we have over twenty years of experience developing software for the pharmaceutical industry, driving their data strategies in the big data revolution. quantori is transforming life sciences and healthcare with the power of digital it. we develop intelligent solutions that provide insights to help our partners make data-driven decisions that innovate drug development and improve patient care. with deep domain knowledge, quantori combines advanced data analytics, scientific knowledge management, and best-in-class software engineering to speed up time to market and improve the agility of the research process. quantori is an international team: we have colleagues who work both from offices and remotely across the world. we are looking for a linux engineer for a full-time position. the position is mainly focused on supporting high performance computing (hpc) clusters. most of the linux footprint within the environment is rhel-based, deployed both on-prem and in the cloud. additionally, our linux engineer will be supporting, building, and maintaining the scientific software, which requires some basic development skills (scripting languages, makefiles, etc.). the successful candidate will be working with various internal technical teams to manage and further develop the growing infrastructure, as well as to streamline management and operation of the footprint. responsibilities: install, configure, and manage linux systems throughout the environment apply consistent security configuration standards across the linux infrastructure implement and maintain management and monitoring tools develop opportunities to streamline and automate deployment and configuration tasks provide technical support and guidance for linux deployments build from source, install, configure, and manage linux applications on the cluster technical qualification: experience in supporting production rhel-like linux servers and applications, general knowledge of common open-source applications, such as nginx postgresql, mariadb, and git experience with ansible or similar configuration-as-a-code software comfortable with configuring os images from scratch comfortable with building software from the source code, understanding the concept of dependencies, libraries, and linking excellent communication and interpersonal skills knowledgeable of the basic concepts of performance optimization in linux hard requirements: linux administration: 5+ years bash scripting: 5+ years ansible or similar software: 2+ years english: b2+ good to have: aws: entry level (practitioner or associate) hands-on experience with hpc cluster software: bright cluster manager, univa grid engine, slurm, easybuild, spac python/r or any similar scripting language we offer: highly competitive compensation remote or office work flexible working hours medical insurance continuous education, mentoring, and professional development programs strong management and tech expertise certifications paid by the company one-on-one english lessons corporate merch and gadgets
