Legal Counsel

компания "орика-казахстан, ао" what you will be doing: provides independent, timely, high quality, solution-focused, risk based and cost-effective legal support for the region. manages provision of legal services by internal and external legal counsel for the region. assists in development of strategy for, and management of, litigation and dispute resolution processes for the region. oversees the negotiation and finalization of legal documentation in the region. supports deployment of the orica contracts management policies, procedures and systems for the region monitors key laws and emerging legislation affecting the business in the region; inform relevant personnel of legal developments that affect their respective areas of responsibility; suggest preventive procedures to minimize exposure to legal risks and liabilities. manages legal aspects of acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and major customer contracts as required. supports development and maintenance of effective compliance with appropriate corporate governance policies and standards in the region, including orica code of conduct and corporate compliance group standard (dealing with anti-bribery and corruption, competition law compliance, trade sanction compliance and anti-money laundering). ensures orica complies with the laws and regulations of the jurisdictions in the region in which it does business and operates in conformity with oricachr(39)s group policies, standards and procedures. how you shape and influence others: operates with a growth mindset and demonstrates strategic thinking, innovation and is an enabler of change enables high performing teams and empowers others communicates across the business unit / function to increase transparency and bring others along the journey applies strategic thinking and integrates purpose with a commercial mindset demonstrates courage, models resilience and flexibility possess unquestioned reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values and solid character builds the trust of others both internally and externally excellent strategic and commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement excellent problem solving and analytical skills excellent leadership and teamwork capabilities, with a high degree of emotional intelligence very strong communication and influencing skills results orientated, strategic thinking and holding others accountable creates and drives a global culture of excellence, collaboration and trust. what you will brinng: relevant tertiary qualification in law qualified to practice law a minimum of 3-6 years post-qualification experience through a combination of relevant private practice and inhouse experience (mining, extraction sector experience is desirable) experience working across africa excellent written and verbal communication skills the ability to influence at all levels of an organization experience working on complex legal matters within a fast-paced commercial environment language skills other than english will be highly regarded, russian, kazakh. conditions: full time (mon - fri) standard social package business trips to production sites (in kazakhstan) timely payment of salary.
